Markets – Oriented towards Europe and the USA

The company’s primary focus is directed, via clinical trials, to provide healthcare professionals with a pharmaceutical product which reduces nerve cell death in connection with traumatic brain injury. NeuroVive is also involved in clinical research and development into other cyclosporine variants which have the potential to be used to treat prolonged seizure activity (status epilepticus), stroke and spinal cord injury. There is also potential for using NeuroSTAT® as an immunosuppressive agent in organ transplantation.

Traumatic brain injury market

Over a million people experience a traumatic brain injury in the USA, EU and Japan every year. Currently there are no pharmaceutical products which can reduce cell death in cases of traumatic brain injury. Therefore a major potential market exists for drugs which protect nerve cells in this situation. NeuroVive is initially targeting the European and US markets.

Immunosuppression market

Approximately 20,000 organ transplants are performed in Europe each year. The European market is more or less on a par with the US market in this field. NeuroSTAT® could potentially be used for immunosuppressive purposes such as in organ transplants.

Market for other indications

NeuroVive is involved in research and development into different cyclosporine variants which could potentially be used to treat prolonged seizure activity (status epilepticus), stroke and spinal cord injuries. Drugs for treating these indications will extend NeuroVive’s potential markets.
